Slideways are the “track” between the guide rail and the moving parts. They convert the rotary (or linear) thrust of the servo motor into precise linear motion of the machine table, spindle box or turret, while withstanding cutting reaction forces, shocks and vibrations. • Guideway and slider blanks are machined on multi-functional horizontal machining centers and gantry five-face machines to ensure straightness and parallelism.
• The raceway is super-finished and nano-polished, and the surface roughness is controlled at the sub-micron level to reduce friction and extend life.
• Before assembly, the preload of the slider is calibrated with a laser interferometer and an eddy-current displacement tester to ensure that the reverse gap is within the allowable range.

Per shift cleaning: brush or low-pressure air to remove chips and oil mud on the guideway surface to prevent hard particles from entering the raceway.
Weekly lubrication: According to the frequency of travel, high-speed and heavy-load machines add special lithium-based grease every week; those equipped with an automatic oiling system also check whether the diverter valve is blocked.
Monthly inspection: listen to the running sound, use a dial indicator to detect the slideway clearance and repeat positioning accuracy; if abnormal noise or crawling occurs, stop the machine immediately for troubleshooting.
Quarterly calibration: use a laser interferometer to re-measure the straightness of the guideway, and re-adjust the shim or scrape the pressure plate when the deviation exceeds the allowable range.
